In 2009 I entered the Just Plain Folks Music Awards, the largest music writing contest in the world. This year they received over half a million song entries, the biggest on record! After many rounds of judging, 2 of my works - one a spoken word piece and the other an orchestral work - were nominated in their respective categories, and one of them, the orchestral work titled "Cirque de Daphna made it to the final found and was selected as a finalist! The awards ceremony took place in Nashville where some of the winning artists were slated to perform. Check out the website at jpfolks.com

In the summer of 2008, CBC Canada launched a nationwide search for a new theme to be used in their “Hockey Night in Canada” TV show. I sent in 3 entries.

Just in time for MacWorld - after working on this song for a long time off and on, I finally finished it, just in time to coincide with Macworld 2008. The song is called "Rapplistory" - it is a combination of the words "rap", Apple" and "history" - the history of Apple told in in song form! "It's Christmas Time", my newest holiday song, completed recording in early October and was released in time for the Christmas season. It, as well as my other Christmas season song, "What a Holiday" received airplay on various radio stations throughout Canada, the US from Alaska to Georgia, and as far away as New Zealand.

“Let Your Spirit Fly”, a never-heard-before two minute clip of my song is now on the website. The big question now is who will be finishing the song, Emily or a new vocalist on the horizon? And I’m also looking for a male vocalist to complete this touching duet. (hint hint)

New vocal recordings are underway for several of my songs! This talented and distinctive vocalist truly sings from the soul and the results will be highly noteworthy. (no pun intended!)
